Parts are an operating decision
An opening parts order should reflect fleet size, duty cycle, road quality, climate, driver behavior, service capability and replenishment time—not a generic percentage of vehicle value.
Build by failure and service mode
Separate routine service items, wear parts, accident-sensitive body parts, diagnostic tools and safety-critical components. Identify parts that can stop a vehicle versus those that can wait.
Link parts to configuration
Parts must match the exact version, powertrain, brake package, electronics and software level. Control supersessions and serial-number applicability.
Plan replenishment
Define consumption reporting, reorder points, urgent freight options and warranty evidence. The first order is the start of the parts system, not the end.
